Add Chris Shellcroft of JustBlogBaby.com to the list of those who think the Raiders should take a look at tight end Chris Cooley, formerly of the Washington Redskins.
Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times reports newly-signed Roscoe Parrish is already practicing with the Raiders.
Corkran also has an article up with various Raiders news, including news about Carson Palmer working with youngsters Terrelle Pryor and Rod Streater.
Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Gate reports defensive tackle Jamie Cumbie has a good chance to make Oakland’s 53-man squad, already quite an accomplishment considering where he was two years ago.
Tafur also reports that head coach Dennis Allen expects wide receivers Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford to be back on the field sometime soon.
One more from Tafur: Linebacker Rolando McClain waived his arraignment on weapons charges. Regardless of the result of the criminal hearings, McClain could still face discipline from the NFL.
A report by The Sports Xchange suggests Oakland’s first team offense needs to do a better job of finding the end zone. Despite several successful drives against Detroit, Oakland (barely) found the end zone only once, on a one-yard Darren McFadden run.
