Aaron Curry returns, Bartell may too
After Sunday’s obliteration of the Raiders’ defense, some good news is finally on the horizon. Aaron Curry will suit up on Sunday in Baltimore. The former top-5 pick missed the first half of the season with knee problems. Don’t expect to see too much of Curry, as he’ll need to be eased back into the game. But, he’s been practicing for a while now. We can only hope he provides a shot in the arm to the linebackers corps.
Cornerback Ron Bartell, who’s been out since the first week with a shoulder injury, is also practicing. While Pat Lee, Michael Huff, and Joselio Hanson have been playing considerably better, Bartell would still be a great help to the secondary. No word yet on whether or not he’ll suit up against the Ravens.
While Taiwan Jones may see some increased activity on Sunday due to high ankle sprains to Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson, he’s fumbled the ball a couple times in very limited activity. Marcel Reece could have a breakout game, though the Raiders have barely run the ball all year; that probably won’t stop on Sunday. I would expect a heavy dose of Carson Palmer. If there is a game where he breaks the Raiders’ single game passing yards mark, this could be the one. Not that Baltimore’s defense isn’t traditionally very strong, it is, I just expect that many pass attempts on Sunday.
